Title : Goodwill Automotive: Taking Light Engineering from Survival Mode to Sustainable

Abstract : This case examines the process, evolution, and sustainability of the small and medium enterprises (SME’s) in Bangladesh, specifically the light engineering (LE) sector. The case assesses through theoretical and practical lenses Goodwill Automotive (GA), a family owned LE business situated in Dhaka. SMEs like GA face resource constraints (i.e., capital, human resources, and raw materials) as they strive for sustainability. The case explores issues with the LE industry, its potential and shortcomings to render this sector as a competitive advantage industry.
