Abstract : SpringsorcharrasareasignificantcomponentofnaturalwatersourceintheChittagongHillTracts(CHT)ofBangladesh.Mostlyallthespringsandsomewaterfallsprovidefreshwaterwhichareessentialforthesustainabilityofbiodiversityandecosystem.Inhillyareascavesarealsoimportantforthesustainabilityoftheecosystemasitisthehabitatofmanyendangeredandrarespecies.Bangladeshisnotrichinspringandwaterfall.OnlythehillyareaofNorth-EastandSouth-Eastpartofthecountryhassomewaterfallsandsprings.However,despiteofitsbenefitstotheecosystemandbiodiversity,thesesignificantcomponentsalwaysremainoutofsightfromanydevelopmentorprotectioninitiatives.ThoughCHTisoneofthebiodiversityrichsitesinBangladeshyetoverthelastdecadeforestandbiodiversityinthisareahavedegradedlargelybecauseofhumansettlementsandextensivelandclearingforJhumcultivation.Inordertorestorehabitat,throughpropermanagementofsprings,Charrasandcaves,activeandefficientparticipationofthetribalcommunity,
