| Impact statement: This is the first study to examine the prevalence and predictors of FGIDs among undergraduate students in Bangladesh, revealing that nearly 40% (38.24%) of this population suffers from these disorders, with functional constipation being the most common subtype. By identifying significant risk factors such as college canteen meals, irregular meal timing, depression, and insomnia, while highlighting physical activity as a protective factor, the research provides a vital evidence-based framework for university policymakers to implement holistic healthcare approaches and improve the well-being of young adults. | Collaboration: None | Keywords: Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs), undergraduate students, Bangladesh, prevalence, predictors |
