Impact statement: This cross-sectional study of 526 desk-based officials in Dhaka reveals that 64% suffer from musculoskeletal (MS) pain, with nearly one in five (19%) experiencing severe symptoms. The research identifies that depression is a significant predictor for severe MS pain (increasing the odds by 2.44 times) and highlights that factors such as overweight status, lack of physical activity, and living in higher floor levels without lift facilities further exacerbate the condition. These findings provide a vital mandate for both personal lifestyle changes and institutional preventive measures, such as ergonomic improvements and mental health counselling, to protect the well-being and productivity of the essential office-based workforce in Bangladesh.
