| Impact statement: This study reveals that while 40.4% of diabetic patients in rural Bangladesh exhibit high medication adherence, nearly one-third (33.2%) still face low adherence due to financial barriers, forgetfulness, and drug unavailability. By identifying that regular exercise, frequent clinic visits, and controlled glucose levels are the strongest predictors of adherence, the research provides a critical evidence base for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to strengthen its network of sub-district NCD corners and implement targeted counseling to improve long-term outcomes for rural patients. | Collaboration: Government | Keywords: Diabetes mellitus, Medication adherence, Non-communicable diseases, Prevalence, Factors |
