| Impact statement: This is the first nationwide study to explore the mental health status of married women in Bangladesh during the COVID-19 pandemic. It identified a high prevalence of depressive symptoms (44%), stress (35%), and anxiety (20%). The study highlights that metropolitan residency, comorbidities, and heavy social media use are significant risk factors for psychological distress, while family assistance in household chores serves as a protective factor. These findings provide a critical epidemiological benchmark for policymakers to develop targeted psychological support and safeguard the mental well-being of women during and after public health crises. | Collaboration: Other | Keywords: Married women, Mental health, DASS-21, COVID-19, Bangladesh |
