Title : 8. Goswami, G. G. (2023). The Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) recently organized a training program on Gravity Modeling in International Trade from August 20 to 24, 2023, for its officers. I served as a resource person, and our graduate student, Mr. Tahmid Labib, NSU Economics, assisted me in the programming part. In the inaugural and concluding sessions, the Chief Guest was Dr. Md. Jafar Uddin, CEO of BFTI and former Senior Secretary of the Government of Bangladesh. The program was attended by all senior officials, including 17 participants. This type of training program will help policymakers develop models to quantify the impacts of various policy shocks, such as FTA, BRICS, RCEP, and CEPA, on Bangladesh. We have enjoyed the enthusiastic participation of all the trainees for the long 5 days. The closing session was also followed by a Certificate Distribution ceremony. BFTI Research Director, Mr. Obaidul Azam, was also present at the inaugural and closing ceremonies.
