Impact statement: This cross-sectional study of 303 students in Bangladesh reveals a significant disconnect between medical knowledge and practical safety; while 70.3% of biological and biomedical sciences students have adequate knowledge of Hepatitis B, only 9.9% demonstrate good preventative practices. Alarmingly, despite their future roles in high-risk healthcare professions, only 23.14% of these students are fully vaccinated. The research identifies that while knowledge is associated with age and parental education, the overall lack of awareness regarding post-exposure prophylaxis and low screening rates remain critical barriers. These findings serve as a vital call for educational institutions to mandate Hepatitis B vaccination for students before clinical exposure and to integrate practical health education programs to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and life-saving clinical practices.
