| Impact statement: This article underscores the essential role of telemedicine in addressing the psychological burdens of COVID-19, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. By providing clinical benefits similar to clinician-guided treatments, telemedicine offers a safer and more convenient alternative to in-person visits, allowing patients to avoid social stigma and receive treatment from home. While significant challenges like internet connectivity for rural populations and regulatory hurdles exist, the authors argue that the pandemic has initiated a revolution in healthcare delivery that cannot be undone. These findings serve as a benchmark for policymakers to recognize telemedicine as a permanent, effective tool for ensuring sound mental health across diverse populations. | Collaboration: None | Keywords: Telemedicine, Mental health, COVID-19 pandemic |
