| Impact statement: This cross-sectional study of 454 young adults in Bangladesh reveals a significant internet addiction prevalence of 27.1%, positioning it as a major public health concern. The research identifies living away from family, having detached family relationships, and daily time spent on the internet as the strongest predictors of addiction. Furthermore, the findings show that behavioral factors like smoking and inadequate physical activity are closely linked to higher addiction levels. These results serve as a critical call to action for policymakers to implement preventative measures and awareness campaigns to protect the mental health and social stability of the country's most active internet-using population. | Collaboration: Other | Keywords: Bangladesh, Cell phone, Internet addiction, Social media, Young adult |
