Impact statement: This cross-sectional study reveals a high prevalence of low back pain (34.51%) among intercity bus drivers in Bangladesh, identifying critical occupational and lifestyle risk factors. The research establishes that driving for more than 10 hours a day, poor seat conditions, smoking, and illicit substance use significantly increase the odds of developing LBP. By providing a detailed analysis of how cumulative vehicle-induced vibration and lack of ergonomic support impact driver health, the study offers a vital evidence-based mandate for policymakers to implement ILO-guided safety standards, regulated working shifts, and low-cost ergonomic interventions to protect the well-being of the nation's transport workforce.
