Impact statement: This is the first-ever nationwide study to assess NiV awareness among the general population in Bangladesh, revealing that while 62% of participants possess good knowledge, significant disparities exist based on gender, education level, and geographic location. By identifying that relying on social media and television is associated with higher odds of poor knowledge compared to educational institutions, the findings provide a critical evidence-based framework for policymakers to develop targeted public health campaigns and strengthen community-led surveillance to prevent future outbreaks of this deadly zoonotic virus Collaboration: Partner University Keywords: Nipah virus, Bangladesh, Knowledge, Public health, Awareness, Education
