Impact statement: This community-based study identifies a high prevalence of poor sleep quality (38.88%) and depressive symptoms (8.94%) among pregnant women in rural Bangladesh. It establishes a significant link, showing that women with depressive symptoms are 2.55 times more likely to experience bad sleep quality. The findings highlight a critical gap in existing antenatal care and provide evidence for policymakers to integrate sleep health and mental health components into the standard maternal healthcare package in Bangladesh to prevent adverse outcomes like premature birth and maternal mental impairment.
