Impact statement: This study is the first of its kind in Bangladesh to assess the knowledge and attitude of medical doctors regarding human monkeypox, revealing a critical gap in pandemic preparedness. While a vast majority (84.8%) of doctors display a positive attitude towards preventive practices, only 30.6% possess "good knowledge" regarding the virus's transmission and treatment. By identifying that integration into the medical curriculum and recent learning are the primary drivers of clinical awareness, the research provides a vital evidence-based mandate for the government to implement practical knowledge-sharing sessions and massive awareness initiatives to safeguard frontline professionals and prevent a localized outbreak.
