Impact statement: This study reveals significant shifts in the dietary patterns of Bangladeshi university students during Ramadan, identifying that living with family and having pre-existing conditions like hypertension or diabetes are major determinants of food choice. By highlighting that students living with families consume more homemade dishes and milk while those with chronic illnesses often reduce their carbohydrate and protein intake, the research provides a critical foundation for culturally appropriate health education programs and public health initiatives designed to ensure balanced nutrition during intermittent fasting periods.
