| Impact statement: This article examines why South Asian countries should participate more actively in preferential trade agreements (PTAs) amid increasing global and regional economic integration. The author evaluates the economic and legal implications of trade regionalism and argues that South Asia risks marginalization if it remains outside major preferential trade networks. By analyzing trade policy, regional cooperation, and development strategies, the article contributes to debates on globalization, economic competitiveness, and regional integration in developing economies. The study is particularly relevant for policymakers, economists, and legal scholars interested in international trade law and South Asian economic development. | Collaboration: None | Keywords: preferential trade agreements, South Asia, regional integration, international trade law, globalization, economic cooperation, |
