| Impact statement: Pierre Robin syndrome (PRS) is a common craniofacial abnormality that causes upper airway obstruction and severe feeding difficulties, often leading to malnutrition and life-threatening complications like aspiration pneumonia/ This case report documents a rare presentation of a newborn in Bangladesh with PRS and the complete absence of a soft palate, whose impending respiratory failure was successfully managed through coordinated NICU care and antibiotic therapy. By highlighting that morbidity and mortality rates increase without diverse clinical techniques, the study provides a vital mandate for the implementation of multidisciplinary treatment protocols—including prone positioning and surgical consultations—to protect the lives of infants with complex birth defects. | Collaboration: None | Keywords: Pierre Robin syndrome, soft palate, glossoptosis, micrognathia, pneumonia, multidisciplinary approach |
