| Impact statement: This study reveals that 34% of cancer survivors in Bangladesh face an extreme economic burden due to treatment costs, with those from low-income households suffering nine times more than those in high-income groups. By identifying that patients with prostate, bone, and liver cancers, as well as those diagnosed at Stage III or IV, face significantly higher financial strain, the research provides a critical framework for healthcare policymakers to prioritize early detection programs and healthcare subsidies. These findings emphasize that early diagnosis can lead to more efficient treatment, avoiding the catastrophic costs associated with advanced-stage disease progression and metastasis. | Collaboration: None | Keywords: Cancer care, Economic burden, Cancer survivor, Out-of-pocket expenditure, Bangladesh |
