Impact statement: This study identifies a high prevalence (22.5%) of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) among medical and dental students in Bangladesh, significantly associated with private institutions, clinical years, obesity, and depression. By highlighting how academic pressure and aesthetic training may heighten appearance concerns, the findings provide a critical mandate for integrating mental health screening and counseling into medical education to support the psychological resilience of future healthcare professionals.
