Impact statement: This study reveals a high prevalence of workplace violence (WPV) among healthcare workers in Bangladesh, with 43% of participants experiencing some form of violence in the preceding year. It identifies that nonphysical violence (84%) is far more common than physical acts, and that public sector employees, emergency department staff, and shift workers are particularly vulnerable. Crucially, the findings expose a lack of institutional accountability, as 65% of victims reported no investigation into incidents and 80% felt their employers provided no support. The study concludes that national guidelines and specialized training are urgently required to protect the safety and psychological well-being of the healthcare workforce.
