Impact statement: This article argues that if the International Court of Justice finds Myanmar responsible for violating the Genocide Convention, it may also order the safe and dignified repatriation of the Rohingya as a form of restitution. The work links the Rohingya’s forced displacement and deprivation of citizenship with broader questions of genocide, statelessness, and international remedies. It contributes to legal and policy debate by showing how international adjudication could move beyond symbolic accountability and provide functional justice for persecuted and displaced communities.
