Impact statement: This study among 393 healthcare workers in Bangladesh reveals a significant disconnect between awareness and action: while 99.5% have good knowledge and 88.8% have a positive attitude toward PPE, only 51.7% demonstrate good practice. The research identifies that physicians and those living at home are more likely to have positive attitudes, while non-physicians, private hospital employees, and those with access to office transport show significantly better practical compliance. These findings serve as a critical call for policymakers to move beyond providing guidelines and instead implement systematic training, regular monitoring, and awareness programs to ensure the safety of the most vulnerable frontline responders.
