Impact statement: This is the first study to investigate insomnia within the Bangladeshi firefighting workforce, revealing that nearly 22.9% of personnel suffer from moderate to severe insomnia. By identifying that older age, higher numbers of rescue operations, and potentially dangerous levels of workplace stress are significant risk factors, the research provides a critical foundation for sleep health promotion programs and routine mental health screenings to ensure the well-being and operational efficiency of emergency responders.
