Impact statement: This cluster non-randomized controlled trial is the first to introduce trained school nurses into the primary school environment in Bangladesh to provide evidence-based health education. The study demonstrates that school nurse-led interventions significantly reduce the prevalence of helminthic infections (from 10.6% to 5.5% in the intervention group) while substantially improving children's hygiene behaviors and health literacy. These findings provide a vital evidence-based mandate for health policymakers to sustainably recruit school nurses, bridging the gap in school health services and helping to reach global targets for infection control in resource-limited settings Collaboration: Partner University Keywords: Awareness; child; health education; hygiene; knowledge; school nursing
