Impact statement: This multicenter cross-sectional study of 477 Rohingya refugees in Cox's Bazar—the world’s largest refugee camp—reveals that nearly half the population (46.12%) lacks basic oral health knowledge, and over 53% are in immediate need of dental care. The research identifies that while 85.74% of migrants secured employment after relocating to Bangladesh, poor dental hygiene remains prevalent, with those suffering from dental pain being ten times more likely to seek treatment. By demonstrating that education and longer residency in the camps are key drivers of healthy oral practices, the study provides a vital evidence-based mandate for health partners to implement minimally invasive restorative treatments and language-specific educational campaigns to protect the long-term well-being of this vulnerable population.
